A mobile e-commerce site wanted to determine the best location to build a new warehousing station to better serve its customer base outside of the west coast. As a first step, Omni Analytics created a set of visualizations to help them spatially identify regions of higher customer density. The ultimate solution was found after we connected to the FedEx API, extracted estimated shipping costs, then overlayed customer purchases on top. Using mathematical optimization, we were able to determine the profit centers and gave the client three location recommendations.
